We do not charge a Resort Fee.
The Resort does have a 10% service fee that is added to the nightly room rate. This service fee covers gratuities for our guest services staff to include bellmen, butler service and guest services. This service fee does not cover gratuities for any food and beverage services, Spa or activities. We welcome gratuities for our colleagues in these areas at your discretion.
There is a 9% tax applied to guest accommodations. Food and beverage, Spa services, activities and retail items are taxed at 12.5%.
Yes. The Resort provides complimentary Wi-Fi throughout guest accommodations and the common areas of the Resort.
There are three easy ways to get from the Philip S. Goldson International Airport to Placencia.
- Guests may simply rent a vehicle at the airport.
- The Resort can provide a private pick-up for guests from the airport to the resort. It is a beautiful and approximately 2.5-hour drive through the countryside to arrive in Placencia.
- If you prefer to take a regional flight, both Maya Air and Tropic Air offer several flights daily to Placencia Airport. Our concierge can assist you with any of these arrangements.
Prana Maya provides a boat shuttle to/from the docks of Placencia to the resort upon request from 7am until 9pm. If you plan to arrive later in the evening, simply arrange for your later pick-up with our concierge. It is a short, less than 10-minute boat ride.
Belize and the Resort accept both the US dollar as well as Belizean currency.
English is the primary language in the country of Belize.
Our concierge will be delighted to pre-stock grocery items for you prior to your arrival. Simply contact them for a provisions form to complete your requests. These items will be charged to your room folio.
Reservations are not required for Resort guests. For guests not staying on property, we do encourage reservations.
Yes, the Resort provides a Fitness Center in The Inn building, and it is open 24 hours for guests ages 15 and older unless accompanied by an adult.
Our Concierge will be delighted to make these arrangements ahead of your arrival if you wish. Or, once you are on-property, we can certainly confirm, change or add excursions as requested.
Check-In time at the Resort is at 3pm. Check-Out time is 11am. If you wish to request an early arrival or later departure time, please contact our Guest Services Manager. We will make every effort to try to accommodate your request.
No, Prana Maya Island Resort is a smoke-free Resort.
Unfortunately, because of our boutique Island location, we are not able to accommodate pets at the Resort. We will, however, make exceptions for service animals if arranged ahead of time and with required certification. For service animals, there will be $175 pet fee applied for your stay.
The Spa at Prana Maya provides six treatment rooms and is available for Resort guests as well as those staying off-property. To accommodate our guests who have traveled to stay with us, we cannot accept off-property appointments greater than 48 hours in advance.
We do request a deposit of two nights’ accommodation to confirm your reservation. This deposit is fully refundable if cancellations are received at least 30 days prior to arrival; during holiday and festive seasons, cancellations must be received at least 60 days prior to arrival to receive a refund.
In the event that Prana Maya Island Resort is directly impacted by a hurricane or threat of a hurricane while the guest is on property, we will gladly offer a certificate for a return stay for the number of unused evenings.
- Cancellations: If a hurricane warning is issued by the US National Weather Center, passengers due to travel within 72 hours of the warning will not incur a penalty for rescheduling their stay.
- No show: No show penalties will also be waived from the day a hurricane warning is issued by the US National Weather center and up to 5 days after normal activities are reinitiated at the resort.
- Early departures: In the event of a hurricane threat, guests who are currently on the property and wish to depart early may do so without incurring an early penalty and will receive a certificate for the number of unused nights, valid for travel within one calendar year from the original reserved dates, subject to availability.
